Like almost every other tattoo studio in the world Sinners & Saints stands on the shoulders of others.

Big Nick, the owner, originally began tattooing in the UK and then France before moving to the U.S. to hone his skills.

He began working in Charlotte with John Rainey of Alternative Arts before leaving to set up his own studio which he called “Ace Custom Tattoos.”

In its very first year in business Ace won the “Best Place to Get a Tattoo” poll in the local alternative newspaper as voted by both readers of the paper and the critics. That was the first time in the history of the paper that a shop ever won both categories and they went on to do it again and again winning various awards for the next eight years.

At that point Nick, wanting to get back near the water, sold the shop to his top artist, the award winning Rodney Raines and moved to the coast to take a hiatus from running the business.

With so many former clients bitching about wanting to get tattooed again Nick finally relented and began scouting locations back in Charlotte before finally settling on the new studio in Cornelius right near beautiful Lake Norman.

Just like Ace,  Sinners & Saints Tattoos will be a shop that focuses on developing life long relationships with our clients by providing them with a safe, sterile and friendly environment in which to get inked.

Sinners & Saints Tattoos also believes in giving back to the local community. Watch our web site and the studio for news of various charity events during the year such as “Toys for Tats” and our fund raising week-ends for various other worthy charities.
